“Economic Recovery Through Infrastructure Service Delivery”

BIG!! ANNOUNCEMENT

The Continental Business Network (CBN) Call for Proposals Covid-19 is implemented by the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AUDA-NEPAD) in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The CBN is a public-private platform to facilitate access to private sector financing for regional infrastructure projects. The network provides an exclusive Infrastructure Investment advisory platform for collaboration with African Leaders. The Covid-19 global pandemic introduced an additional short- and long-term pressures on socio-economic systems. One way to mitigate these pressures is to stimulate the economy through infrastructure service delivery which effects investment, employment and ultimately drives household income generation. AUDA-NEPAD through the CBN launched the CBN Call for Proposals Covid-19: Economic Recovery Through Infrastructure Service Delivery for Small-Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Africa December 2020.

Over 60 Application were received of which were technically screened and 4 African SME’s and/or NGO projects were selected for technical support with financial modelling and business plan development, and market packaged these business plans in pitch desk to facilitate engagements with private sector investor to mobilize funds for project implementation.

The CBN Call for Proposals Covid-19: Economic Recovery Through Infrastructure Service Delivery is supported by GIZ. Via an ongoing and strategic partnership between AUDA-NEPAD and the Federal Republic of Germany, AUDA-NEPAD and GIZ implementing on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) offered technical advisory support services to micro-small and medium enterprises to drive socio-economic recovery through infrastructure development.

Water Compass uses renewable energy, technology, and efficient management to provide reliable and affordable access to clean water for rural communities in Uganda. This is achieved by building, operating, and maintaining solar powered water supply systems with the communities

Aquaethanol Technologies

Aquaethanol Technology develops clean and affordable cooking fuel solutions by harnessing the invasive water hyacinth weed found in the Winam Gulf of Lake Victoria in Kenya. Aquaethanol Technologies produces bioethanol and biobriquettes, targeting primarily the residential sector but also other commercial customers e.g. hotels and caterers in the region.
