The smooth progress of infrastructure projects in Africa is the proper preparation of projects at early stages. This initial phase is of great importance as it subsequently facilitates access to financing and attracts investors for the stages of detailed engineering studies, construction, and maintenance.
To address this challenge, the African Union (AU), through AUDA-NEPAD, developed the Service Delivery Mechanism (SDM) tool in 2014. The SDM is an infrastructure project preparation instrument designed to tackle early-stage project preparation issues and challenges, ultimately contributing to the acceleration of PIDA Priority Action Plan (PIDA PAP) projects implementation.
In light of this, a workshop focused on the Service Delivery Mechanism (SDM) is scheduled to take place. The event, titled "Quality Assurance and Acceleration of the Preparation of Infrastructure Projects in Africa," aims to enhance the effectiveness of the SDM and improve project preparation across the continent.
