The PIDA Service Delivery Mechanism (SDM) was established to address the lack of capacity for early-stage project preparation at the national and regional level.
The SDM is a mechanism that supports the preparation of infrastructure projects under PIDA. Its goal is to make projects bankable and ready for financing, while providing assistance to RECs, governments, and other stakeholders. The SDM provides, amongst others, institutional advisory services, legal advice, communications, and capacity-building support.
The services offered by the SDM include technical assistance to overcome technical and financial barriers, the Quick Check Methodology (QCM) to assess project maturity, and the PIDA Quality Label (PQL) to certify project readiness and quality:
