PIDA Week 2024

PIDA Week 2024 was held from November 25 to November 29 at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This significant event was organized by the African Union Commission (AUC), AUDA-NEPAD, and the Ethiopian government, under the patronage of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The theme for the week was “Fostering Resilient and Inclusive Infrastructure for Africa’s Sustainable Growth: Leveraging Transformative Financing and Regional Integration.”

The event brought together key leaders and stakeholders, including H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the AUC, and H.E. Nardos Bekele-Thomas, CEO of AUDA-NEPAD. Discussions focused on strategic infrastructure financing, regional integration, and the role of infrastructure in sustainable growth. The week emphasized the importance of resilient and inclusive infrastructure in advancing Agenda 2063 and addressing Africa’s infrastructure deficits. High-level sessions explored climate change risks, decarbonization strategies, and transformative financing models to accelerate infrastructure development across the continent.
